D2 Technologies hired Frank First to design the mobile experience for a Wi-Fi (VoIP) handset. The goal was to create a limited-functionality device that could be produced inexpensively and given to corporate employees, allowing them to text, IM and place calls from any wireless hot spot.

The most challenging aspect, given the technological and cost restraints of the phone, was to create a compelling experience that would support multiple-communication options. After extensive research and thinking, we defined the entire user experience strategy and then delivered on that plan with top-notch interaction and visual designs. The solution centered on a straightforward yet engaging home screen inviting communication.
